Just want to let you know that we as a class (and previous classes before us) didn't have fund raisers, but instead have to pay monthly dues. We started off at 3.00 a person, but since our class has shank we are at 4.00. We have bi weekly class meetings to discuss our money and what we need to get, etc. We generally have to pay for our own things (like board material stuff, etc) but if we feel a fellow student isn't able to afford the extra items we will provide that student with a portion of our collected money.
We did consider at one time selling Little Caesar's Pizza Kits (they are a big hit here in MI) but didn't do it because the funds from our dues was sufficient for our intended purchase and we were able to build the money back up.
When the next incoming class comes, in your class will be able to start the tradition of big brothers or sisters. It is very beneficial. We also have a faculty advisor for students. Each student is given a faculty to whom they have weekly discussions of their progress, weaknesses, etc. It really helps.
Hope some of this helps. Good luck
Roxann

What we as a class have done is :sold Sees candies as fundraisers, you buy 24 boxes at 360.00 and after selling you end up with the 360.00 plus 360.00 profit(each student sold a box, I ate mine!):also we did a garage sale...160.00 profit:we've sold personalized lic. plate holders(eg..on a scaler of 1-10 a hygienest is an 11-12) thats been a hit at the sadha/adha,etc meetings:also we've collected 10.00/month per student for class dues:also we did a tea...our social coordinator assembled that little fun project..about 300.00 profit......
From: Aaron B
With the tea we borrowed a friend's home in Bel-Air and rented some chairs and tables. We only served tea no food just dessert,(some kind of slimy fruit).Every chair was i think 30.00,but it was a great way to meet everybody's family and finally put a face with all those names we kept hearing about!! Also, the license plate holders are great at functions were there's a lot of RDH with money!!!!Lat, the candy drive ...well its just like how they used to make you sell chocolates in elementary school.(see's chocolates)

Hey there:
The best and most efficient fund raiser I attended was an art auction. The art company is New York based and travels to New Jersey. They bring the art and set up. You need minimal people for the fund raiser.
This is how it works:
They print the invitations for you with the date and time.
They bring the art and set up. You do nothing here.
All you have to do is find a hall to have it with light refreshments.
If you can get the local high school string quartet to play for the hour viewing prior to auctioning, this is a plus.
The bidding goes easily and this only is for two hours. You get a perccentage on the amount of people attending. Usually all faculty and staff of the school take an interest and attend. It's amazing.
For just two hours of your time, you make more money for your organization that selling candy and such or having flea markets. It is incredible.
The name and number to call is:
Marlin Arts
920 Grand Boulevard
Deer Park, New York 11729
1-516-242-3344
The best part is that some of the artwork is signed, numbered or both. They also bring originals, but not many. They try to keep the cost down for everyone so that all can participate. They also distribute information for your home owners to prove the worth of the artwork on some of the pieces.

Sarah contributes:
For fund raisers our school sells toothbrushes, you can buy a dozen for about$2.50...then turn around and sell them for about $1.50-2.00 each. It works good.

Angela in No. Ca. contributes:
I'm a 2nd year student in N. Calif., for fundraising, we earned $600 for selling hotdogs and beer at a booth at an Oakland Raiders game last year. It was a quick, easy and fun way to earn some money. (It was also a good way to market our school to get some new patients)!
Last month, we worked a concert, doing the same kind of stuff. Call your local arenas and coliseums, to check out how you can do a fundraiser.
We also continuously sell Crest toothbrushes. We buy them for 19 cents a piece, and sell them for $1.00. These sell really quickly now that we have the Extender and the new Multicare Flex (both sell for around $4.00 in stores). Call the crest 800 number if you're interested.
Hope this helps!

Jennifer deBoer in Prince George, British Columbia contributes:
Our class wrote cookbooks. Each student in the class contributed 10 recipes to the book, which were then divided into sections. These recipes were then sent to a company in Winnipeg that proofreads and prints up the book. This company offers a choice of covers and divider pages (or you can design your own). The books cost about $2.50 each and we sold them for $10.00. This gave us a profit of $3700.00!! Plus it was a keepsake for us!

Lynda contributes:
I know that our local component raffles off a CEU course and that always brings in a lot of funds!
We also had some tee shirts made up and bumper stickers, but with those you have to spend money to make it!

  • I'm a first year DH student in Northern California. For our fundraising, we sold toothbrushes for a dollar each and a set of six is sold for $5.00. We started selling toothbrushes earlier in the semester and still ongoing. As of the moment, we sold a total of $1,500.00. In addition to that, we sold our old clothes and old stuff at a flea market in our school - for that alone in just one day - we sold about $600.00. Hope this helps! Goodluck! Marge DH 2003
  • QSP Reader's Digest Fundraising
  • We held a Community Kid Safe Fingerprint-a-Thon. It was wonderful! We used Kid Safe Child ID Network, Inc. They did all the work, all we did was promote the event. www.thekidsafenetwork.com
  • We sold white strips.
  • Hello, I was just looking at your fundraising ideas page on your website, and I just wanted to share our unique fundraising idea with you. We are an inkjet recycling company. Every year, millions of empty toner and inkjet cartridges end up in our nation's landfills. We have developed a simple fundraiser that is one of the easiest, and fastest ways to raise funds. It's also a great way to teach people about the environment.

Our fundraising program requires NO SELLING! You simply encourage your school, your community, your church, your friends, your local businesses to donate their empty inkjet and laser cartridges to your group, instead of throwing them in the trash. In turn, we pay you up to $2.00 for each inkjet, and up to $5.00 for each laser cartridge you collect.

We provide you with promotional materials, including sample flyers, newsletter articles, and other items to help you in your collection efforts. The more you promote the program, the more money you'll raise for your organization.

When you have collected a number of cartridges, you can ship them to us using our prepaid mailing label, and the cartridges will be send to us at no cost to you. When we receive the cartridges, we'll inventory your collection, and cut you a check! We then recycle the cartridges, and offer them to our customers as a lower cost alternative to the high cost of the original equipment manufacturer's cartridges.

Please let me know if this is something your group might be interested in. If you need more information, call me toll free at 1-877-465-2400. Or, there is information available on our website http://www.inkjetrecyclers.com.

Thanks for taking the time to read my email. If I can be of any assistance, please contact me.

    Sincerely, Lyn A. Askin InkjetRecyclers.com lyn@inkjetrecyclers.com

  • We sold the crest whitestrips, we bought them for 15 and sold them for 30. Our class was able to exceed our budget. When our college had community events, we set up a table to sell. We put up flyers prior so other students knew how much it would cost. Some of the girls sold the whitestrips to coworkers, families, neighbors, and so forth.
  • HI!! I am a student in Panama City, Florida and for our fundraisers we have car washes, bake sales and sell Crest White Strips. Our bake sale wasn't a big success ($50) but the car wash bright in $200 easily! Since it is HOT here all the time, people are out on saturdays driving around the beach and they love to stop to get their car looking great! One guy with a Hummer paid us $20 to wash his truck! Our biggest success is the white strips. We called Procter and Gamble and told them about our fundraiser and how our patients loved the result. We buy each kit at $15 and sell for $30! It's a professional kit so it's stronger than what they sell in Walmart, also comes with an extra weeks worth, and a toothbrush and whitening toothpaste. We have made over $1000 on selling these and the patients get most of the benefit! I would definately recommend it!
  • We held a Kid Safe Fingerprint-a-Thon Event. It went very well. The whole community got involved. I would recommend it. Visit www.fingerprintingpros.com if you want to learn more.
  • Cookie I did an excellent fundraiser, based out of NY, Kitchen Solutions Fundraising. They have a website kitchensolutionsfundraising.com.....it's all professional quality kitchen tools...everyone loved it!
  • My class had a tag sale on a main road. All the kids got together with all their "junk" and sold it for reasonable prices. we made about a 300 dollar profit, and considering we're from a very small town, thats pretty good.
