Restorative Dentistry in the Management of Periodontal Disease

  1. What kind of things might happen if dental caries are not fixed & or missing teeth aren’t replaced?

·        Dental Caries: the decay will cause tooth to hurt so patient may quit brushing in that area and plaque will accumulate and lead to gingivitis or perio.

·        Missing teeth: You will have mesial drift, bone loss.

  1. What should be performed first perio or restorative? Perio because if restorative is done first it will have to been redone once tissues etc. are healed.
  2. Where ideally should the location of a crown margin be, for hygienists? Supra.
  3. Where are most crown margins located & why? On the facial, they are sub because it is more appealing; on the linguals, they are usually supra.
  4. Anything else that might be relevant to restorative and perio treatment:
