  1. List the uses of porcelain: Crowns, dentures, veneers, inlay, and onlay.
  1. How does porcelain harden? By heat.
  1. What reduces the porosity of porcelain? A vacuum oven.
  1. What is the last thing added to porcelain to give it a smooth enamel like appearance? Glaze.
  1. Porcelain is insoluble so it is: Dimensionally stable.
  1. Is porcelain biocompatible with the mouth? Yes.
  1. Porcelain is resistant to: abrasion.
  1. Porcelain is stronger in: compression.
  1. What color it is refers to: Hue.
  1. Chroma: Strength of hue- different shades of color.
  1. If chroma is increased what happens to the color? It is more vivid.
  1. How is the tooth prepped for veneer placement? Tooth is etched then bonded with composite.
